Teammates, trainers and medical staff saved the life of St. Louis Blues
defenseman Jay Bouwmeester Tuesday night after he became unresponsive
on the bench after returning from the ice.
The team described the event as a “cardiac episode”, or abnormal
heartbeat in a
news release 2 days ago.
But one thing is crystal clear: credit team work, a super fast response,
“hands-only” CPR, and the use of an
AED, or automated external defibrillator, to saving his life.
